FAQ Extensions
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are semi-permanent eyelash extensions comprised of individual synthetic fibers that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. Our lashes are thicker at the base and taper to a fine point. They are applied on to individual eyelashes, one extension at a time, for a natural, elegant look to lengthen and add fullness to the existing lashes. Eyelash extensions are for professional application only. Self-application and application by untrained individuals is strongly discouraged.
What do they look like and how do they feel?
With proper application, eyelash extensions look and feel completely real. Each application is customized to suit the individual. We offer six thicknesses of lashes and four different curls with lengths ranging from 7mm to 18mm in a variety of colors for highlighting effects. Varying individual synthetic lash lengths are chosen to carefully replicate the shape and frame of a natural lash line. The thickness of the eyelash extension applied is determined by the health and thickness of your natural lashes as well as personal preference. The overall effect is added curl, thickness and length, opening up the eye for added definition.

Eyelash extensions are designed to be indistinguishable in size and weight to human lashes. They are flexible yet crimp-resistant, and they move with your natural lashes. As long as you keep up with the touch-up applications, it is almost impossible to tell that you are wearing the extensions.

Because an eyelash extension is an exact replica of an eyelash, it weighs about as much as a natural lash: practically nothing. You will not notice the addition of the extensions to your lashes and they will not cause your natural lashes to fall out ahead of their natural cycle as other enhancement methods can. Please feel free to review our client testimonials and before/after pictures for additional information on the look and feel of eyelash extensions.

How long do eyelash extensions last?
It is an individual process. We lose between 1-5 eyelashes almost everyday. We also grow a new lash to replace the one that fell out. Lash Extensions can last indefinitely with proper care and maintenance. However, factors such as eyelash growth, lifestyle and general after care will affect how long the lashes last. As your natural lashes fall out due to the growth cycle, you will need refills when new lashes grow. At first you may find you need a touch up every 3 weeks. As you become accustomed to the extensions and with a little practice maintaining the lashes, we will determine if the time between touch ups can be extended to 4-4.5 weeks.
Will eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?
To be completely honest it is not a simple yes or no answer. It depends on the application, the lashes used and how one follows the aftercare advice given by the stylist. Eyelash extensions will not damage your natural lashes if applied correctly. There are two important facts that you should be aware of before you decide which lashes are best for you.

Long, thicker extensions are not always the best - The extensions used should be slightly longer and thicker than your natural eyelashes. Most of those who have experienced damaged lashes have had the wrong type of lashes applied by an uneducated stylist. Excess weight and length can cause stress on the natural lashes and result in the natural lashes breaking or prematurely shedding.

One extension should bond to one natural eyelash only - An experienced stylist would fully isolate a natural lash and adhere only one extension(or one volume fan) to that natural eyelash. This method allows your natural lashes to grow and shed freely and not be restricted by being stuck to other lashes. Damage to eyelashes are caused by incorrect application and can result in itching, pinching and massive clumping. To relieve any discomfort, the client would likely pick or pull out the offending extensions resulting in damaged natural lashes or even worse bald eyes.

Can I apply eyelash extensions to my own eyelashes?
No. Only a trained professional will be able to safely apply eyelash extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury, lash damage or unnatural looking lashes. Eyelash extensions are applied one lash at a time to your individual natural eyelashes to achieve long, thick and natural looking eyelashes. The procedure involves bonding the synthetic extension to your own natural eyelashes and should be performed only by professionally trained Lash Stylists only.

FAQ Lash lift
How is lash lift done
1. After you arrive and fill out your paperwork, your lash lift specialist will thoroughly cleanse your lashes and place gel pads on your bottom lashes. Your eyes will remain closed for the entire process.

2. Depending on the length of your natural lashes, a rod (small, medium, or large) is placed on top of the eyelids to determine which size best suits your lashes to achieve the best lift.

3. Once the size is determined, the rod is placed onto your eyelids and a gentle adhesive is applied to lift the natural lashes up onto the rod.

4. Once lashes are on the rod, a setting solution is applied for 5-10 minutes on each eye.

5. The setting solution then gets removed and a neutralizer solution is applied on both sides for 5-7 minutes. If desired, this step can be followed by applying lash tint to darken the natural lashes for more dramatic results. (A tint is highly recommended for those with light colored lashes)

What's the aftercare for lash lift
For 24 hours following your appointment, it is recommended to avoid applying makeup, oils or water near the eye area. After the 24 hours have passed, you can resume normal daily activities / product use.
Will this damage my natural lashes?
No. When performed properly, a lash lift/tint should never damage the natural lashes. Careful consideration is taken during the service to ensure the product is not coating the tips of the lashes and is only left on the lashes for the recommended time to avoid over processing.
Is it painful?
No, there should be no discomfort associated with the service. If at any point you feel discomfort, notify your lash specialist immediately.
How long will the effect last?
The lift can last anywhere from 6-8 weeks, depending on how rapid your hair growth cycle is.

We lose between 1-5 natural lashes per day (on each eye) As your lifted natural lashes shed, a new lash will grow in its place that will be in its natural state (in most cases, straight). In order to maintain your lift, it is important to schedule an appointment every 5-7 weeks.

What is the difference between a lash lift and lash extensions.
A Lash Lift is a lifting and darkening of your own lashes. There is no maintenance required for 6-8 weeks. They offer a very natural and beautiful look. Lash extensions are thicker and more glamorous. They require touching up every 3-4weeks. Also, they are additions to your natural lashes, not an augmentation of your natural lashes.
Can everyone get a lash lift?
Lash lifts are NOT recommended for clients with:

• Chronic Dry eyes

• Conjunctivitis

• Trichotillomania

• Glaucoma (consult your physician)

• Lasik Surgery (at least 4 months post op)

• Blepharoplasty Surgery (1 year post op)

• Damaged or sparse lashes (if you have visible gaps within your lash line, a lift will potentially make them more noticeable)

• Chemo Patients (1 year after last treatment)

When in doubt, please consult your physician.
