Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique that enhances or reshapes eyebrows. Our talented technicians use a special handheld tool with a row of fine needles to create small, hair-like strokes in the epidermis (top layer of the skin), depositing pigments to mimic the natural look of eyebrow hair. Out of all other permanent makeup brow services we offer at Perfection Laboratory, microblading provides the most natural and hyper-realistic results.
It can cover the gaps (hello overplucking!), create fuller, natural-looking eyebrows, and is especially great for individuals with sparse or thinning brows who don't like the look of other techniques. Please note that microblading is not suitable for oily skin.

The process might take up to 2,5 HOURS
Once you arrive we will discuss your preference and find the right shape and style for your eyebrows that match your facial features best. The technician will also recommend if the technique you chose is best for your skin type and brow hair.

The technician will pre-draw the shape, thickness, and arch to your liking with a makeup pencil and won't start the procedure until you are 100% satisfied with the shape. We will also recommend the best color taking into account your skin tone, skin type, and undertones. In case we can't find the perfect match from 50+ different shades of brown we have, the artist will be able to create a custom color mix and track it for a future touch up.

Once the shape and color have been chosen, the technician will start the procedure and apply the numbing gel. We use a powerful 4% lidocaine for numbing so the majority of our clients report minimal to no pain at all during the procedure. Numbing starts working in 2-3 minutes and can be reapplied if needed.
The artist will begin using a PMU machine or a specially-made tool to delicately deposit the brow pigment into the skin. The procedure is very topical. Brow hair DOES NOT have to be removed for this procedure. The process takes between 30-90 minutes depending on each particular case.
Finally, when the brow PMU procedure is complete we talk about the immediate and long-term aftercare and recommend how to maintain the results for longer. You will receive an aftercare kit to take home.
In 80% of cases, the touch-up procedure is needed in 1-3 months (not included in the cost of the initial procedure as not everyone will need it). Our body tries its best to reject any foreign substance and that's why not all the ink deposited will retain once healed. Some people might retain 90% of the color, while others retain only 50%. It is up to you if you want to get a touch-up or not and can be determined once the brows are healed in a couple of weeks after the initial procedure. Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 7-10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures. The color might lighten 20-50%.

Clean the area with water (or micellar water) and a cotton pad and allow to air dry, then apply a very thin layer of ointment(will be provided)

Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and color loss.

No sun exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 2 weeks after the procedure. Once the brows are healed in 7-14 days you should apply 30+ SPF on them to avoid fading.

How to maximize colour retention for longer?
The use of Retin A / Tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products regularly on the forehead area will cause the permanent makeup on the eyebrow area to fade prematurely.
Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the look. You can book an appropriate touch-up in Downtown or Midtown Toronto locations between 1 month to 2.5 years from the date of the last appointment. After 2.5 years a new procedure should be booked.
The use of chemical peels and acid peels regularly on the forehead region can also cause eyebrow tattoos to fade prematurely.

Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as "PMU" or "micropigmentation". The cosmetic implantation technique deposits coloured pigment into the upper reticular layer of the skin. The inks are different from regular tattoo inks and are not as permanent. Pignment is also deposited not as deep into the skin - thus it fades over time.
No, there is no downtime. You might experience some swelling and redness after the procedure, but that normally subsides in the next 24 hours. The colour of the freshly done PMU though will be brighter than the final result: lips fade 50-70% in colour, brows 10-50%, and eyeliner 10-30%. There are also certain limitations and aftercare instructions that you would have to adhere to for the first 7-10 days, so we recommend not to schedule your PMU appointment before vacations or important events
Most people experience some minor discomfort. This will vary according to each individual's pain threshold. There are different methods available, however, to help with discomfort management, including various topical anesthetics that are specifically developed for our industry. We will try our best to be as gentle as possible during the procedure and apply numbing gel as often as needed to minimize any discomfort! To put this in perspective, thousands of body art tattoos are performed annually, possibly millions. As a rule, traditional tattoo professionals do not use any anesthetics for their tattoo procedures. Anesthetics for permanent cosmetics are more of a tattoo service luxury because of the nature of the tattoo location and the fact that permanent cosmetics fall into the beauty treatment category. Other factors such as menstrual cycles also affect the level of sensitivity.
If proper sterilization and disinfection guidelines are met, permanent cosmetics is completely safe. At Perfection Laboratory we prioritize safety above all. We use only signle use disposable PMU cartridges and needles and follow hospital grade sanitation protocols whne performing cosmetic tatooing.

- All Needles should be new and sterile for each client. Unopened new and sterile needles should be opened in your presence and disposed of in a sharps container immediately after the procedure has been completed.
- Personal protection equipment such as disposable one-time-use gloves should be new for each client and changed during the procedure if needed.
- Disposable one-time-use chair/bed covering should be new for each client.
- The room or treatment area should be in an area free from other contaminants.

Even though English isn’t Victoria’s first language, she was very caring, and we had no issues communicating. I would definitely suggest bringing some reference photos of what you like/dislike to ensure you get the best results possible. It’s been two weeks since my brow lamination, and they still look amazing. The tint on my skin has faded (which is normal, as it only lasts a few days), but I was told it can last up to a month on the hairs, and I still love the look, it starts looking more natural after a few days so if you have any important event - I would recommend coming a few days in advance. I cannot recommend them enough—truly the best brow lamination in Toronto!

Not only was my technician incredibly kind, but she was also attentive and understood exactly how I wanted my brows shaped. I was truly impressed that it was possible to create this shape out of the thin brows I came in with. The technician explained step by step how the brow lamination works, was very gentle, checked on me regularly, and offered me a blanket and a feet massager machine. I even fell asleep, haha! She took her time to mix a custom tint shade that turned out so natural and not too dark. Now I just have to apply a bit of brow gel in the morning, and my brows look fabulous for the entire day.
